Spoleto is a walled city perched on a slanting hillside of Umbria in central Italy. Since 1958 it hosts the Festival dei Due Mondi (Festival of Two Worlds), founded by the composer Gian Carlo Menotti. This top of the line arts festival runs from June 24 through July 10.
