Spoleto is a walled city perched on a slanting hillside of Umbria in central Italy. Since 1958 it hosts the Festival dei Due Mondi (Festival of Two Worlds), founded by the composer Gian Carlo Menotti. This top of the line arts festival runs from June 30 through July 1, 20125. Assisi is one of the most important Christian pilgrimage sites. If you are looking for peace and tranquility, this is the place. The Assisi Performing Arts devoted to vocal and instrumental music is held from July 1 to July 19, 2012. It looks like they are no longer doing jazz.
