We start with an "overflow" from September. The riverside city of Jesi and the coastal city of Ancona in the Marches region of central Italy and three neighboring towns host the Pergolesi Spontini Festival 2011 from September 2 until October 2. This festival features the music of the early Eighteenth Century composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, but includes works by Bach, Vivaldi, and others. Ravello Campania Italy
The lovely village of Ravello, situated on the pricey Amalfi Coast, has hosted the Ravello Festival summers since 1953. In this case summer continues from October 1 until October 31. I don't think that I have to introduce Rome. From October 7 to November 30 the Eternal City hosts the RomaEuropa Festival, devoted to music, dance, and theatre. This will give you just one more reason to visit during the "off-season".
