October Music Festivals And Concerts

Let's enjoy the Italian Musical Experience this October...

The gastronomic city of Parma, home to some of the world's best ham and cheese, hosts its almost native son, Giuseppe Verdi, at the Verdi Festival 2012 from October 1 until October 28. For more information consult http://www.allegroholidays.com/Verdi_Festival_Parma_Italy.htm

I don't think that I have to introduce Rome. From September 26 to November 25 the Eternal City hosts the RomaEuropa Festival, devoted to music, dance, and theatre. This will give you just one more reason to visit during the "off-season". For more information consult the Italian-language website http://romaeuropa.net/festival.html . The English-language button at the top of the screen didn't work the last time I tried it.

Bologna, the capital of the northern region of Emilia-Romagna is well known for its gastronomy. From October 5, 2012 to March 23, 2013 it hosts over seventy concerts. Headliners include Jennifer Lopez and Justin Bieber. For more information consult http://www.songkick.com/metro_areas/30285-italy-bologna?page=1 . J. B. is on the next page and it's probably not too soon to make your reservations.

Do you need an excuse to visit Venice? One more reason is the 56th International Festival of Contemporary Music that runs from October 6 to 13. For more information consult http://www.labiennale.org/en/music/.
