Brescia is a city at the foot of the Alps in the Lombardy region of Italy. Bergamo is a medieval walled city. They both have lovely old towns worth visiting. During the month of May and June they jointly host the Festival Pianistico Internazionale di Brescia E Bergamo with concerts almost every night. Many of the concerts are given in one town and repeated in the other on the following evening. Milan is the capital of the northern Lombardy region. More than that it’s Italy’s business and fashion capital. On June 22 it hosts the Gods of Metal concert, quite a business, which promises to be quite a fashion show. My only question is why is this only one day. Are you familiar with Klezmer music? It is or was traditional music of Eastern European Jews popular at weddings and other celebrations way back when. This foot-tapping (and more) has undergone major revival. If you are in Milan you should check out the Klezmatics on December 4th.
