Doesn't it seem that Rome always has music available? Check out the upcoming offerings at http://www.aboutroma.com/opera-and-classical-concerts-in-rome.html .
Rome manages to provide some fine musical experiences during February. It hosts the Controtempo - Contemporary Music Festival in the Villa Medici from February 9 to February 13, 2013. For more information consult http://www.villamedici.it/en/cultural-events/events-programme/2013/02/controtempo/.
It takes two to tango so bring a friend to the Roma Tango Meeting held in Italy’s capital of Italy from June 21 to June 24, 2012. You say you don’t tango; lessons are available. For more information consult http://www.romatangomeeting.com.
What do you think about FREE? From July 11 to July 14, 2012 the little city of Isola del Liri in the central Italian Latium region hosts the Liri Blues Fest. Concerts are held in the main square (Piazza Boncompagni), in the streets and nighttime means jam sessions. Last year’s stars were Eric Bibb, Albert Lee, Sonny Landreth, Bettye Lavette, and Colosseum. At present the website has not been updated for 2012 and I have to hope that it's still free. For more information consult http://www.liribluesfestival.it/Default.aspx.
I don't think that I have to introduce Rome. From September 26 to November 25 the Eternal City hosts the RomaEuropa Festival, devoted to music, dance, and theatre. This will give you just one more reason to visit during the "off-season". For more information consult the Italian-language website http://romaeuropa.net/festival.html . The English-language button at the top of the screen didn't work the last time I tried it.
From December 19 to December 31 the Eternal city hosts the Roma Gospel Festival featuring James Hall, dubbed with the title “The Undisputed Professor of Gospel Music” on the 20th. For more information consult http://www.romagospelfestival.it/?p=4&lang=en.
Levi Reiss has authored or co-authored ten books on computers and the Internet, but to be honest, he would rather just drink fine Italian or other wine, accompanied by the right foods. He teaches classes in computers at an Ontario French-language community college. Visit his website www.travelitalytravel.com devoted to Italian travel with an accent on fine Italian wine and food. Visit his central wine website www.theworldwidewine.com with weekly reviews of $10 wine and columns devoted to various aspects of wine including wine and food, humor, trivia, organic and kosher wine and lots more.
