Brescia is a city at the foot of the Alps in the Lombardy region of Italy. Bergamo is a medieval walled city. They both have lovely old towns worth visiting. During much of the month of May and June they jointly host the Festival Pianistico Internazionale di Brescia E Bergamo with concerts almost every night. The June dates are June 2 until June 13. Many of the concerts are given in one town and repeated in the other on the following evening. Ravenna is a small city in the Emilia-Romagna region on the Gulf of Venice. Their Ravenna Festival runs from June 9 to July 18 and includes a whole slew of concerts, opera, drama and ballet, far too numerous to list here. Milan is the capital of the northern Lombardy region. More than that itís Italyís business and fashion capital. From June 21 to June 24 it hosts the Gods of Metal concert, quite a business, which promises to be quite a fashion show. You'll get a chance to hear Guns and Roses, Motley Crue and many others. The Sued Tyrol Jazz Festival Alto Adige runs from June 29 to July 8 and includes dozens and dozens of concerts offered in many cities, towns, and on the mountains in this beautiful region.
